Could you be a Federation Rep?
A message for members of Hampshire Police Federation.
The Police Federation elections are coming in early 2018 and with them comes the opportunity for you to stand and be heard, to be the voice of your colleagues, to be there to fight their corner when they need you and to develop your career by learning new skills and being exposed to new experiences.
The diversity of our membership should be reflected in the people of the Federation and the voices that are taking our messages forward. There are lots of opportunities, whether as a workplace rep, a regional representative, a full time official and also a national representative - we want you and we want to hear your voice.
This is your opportunity to be a part of the new structure and how it looks in the future. Under the new rules all federation representative posts will become vacant in the New Year and force wide elections will be taking place.
As part of this you will be able to nominate yourself to become a fed rep and participate in the elections.
From next year, the federation locally and nationally MUST have proportional representation in terms of gender and BME. The current Board has approximately 20% female but has no BME reps. We want to change this and need to increase our BME and female Representatives.
If you are interested in standing for election, current reps will be at the following locations to provide information and answer any questions you may have.
Please pop along and find out more;
Monday 18th December 10am-4pm | Southampton Central (Canteen on floor 6)
Tuesday 9th January 10am-4pm | Basingstoke PIC (Canteen)
Friday 12th January 10am-4pm | Newport Police Station (rest room)
If you are unable to make any of these dates and times, please make contact with a local rep who will be able to assist you. Alternatively please contact the Federation office.
