Operations Sergeant representative - Richard Grant
I joined Hampshire Constabulary in September 1995 and was posted onto TPT in Southsea. During my service, I have worked in a range of uniformed roles including TPT and neighbourhoods.
From April 1999, until being promoted in Oct 2005 I served as an authorised firearms officer and accrediated bronze commander on the armed response vehicles, which at that time were attached to the roads policing unit.
On being promoted, I was posted to the north of the county and worked in both neighbourhoods and TPT before being being posted into custody at Alton.
In 2009 I was posted to Southampton and worked on TPT before returning to the roads policing unit in January 2012.
I am a qualified advanced driver and police motorcyclist and I am a trained pursuit tactical advisor.
I have a keen interest in misconduct and disclipine matters and will look to progress this within my role for the federation.
I was inspired to join the federation after seeing the federation in action after a
fatal collision after police contact and the PIM process that followed with members
of my team.
