Chairman, Hampshire Police Federation
John is a Constable and is the Hampshire Federation Chairman, he works from the Federation office near Romsey. He joined Hampshire Constabulary in 1992 and has worked at Lymington, Southampton Central and on the Roads Policing Unit before taking the Chairman's role in June 2010. John has worked in a variety of roles including as a Neighbourhood officer, a response officer, a Family Liaison Officer and on the Road Death Investigation Team as an investigator.
Prior to becoming the Chairman John was the Chairman of the Constables Branch Board and the Vice Chairman of the Joint Branch Board. He has a wealth of experience in representing officers of all ranks. John is passionate about representing the voice of the officers and has worked hard locally to ensure members concerns are heard and acted upon.
As the Chairman John negotiates with the Chief Officer Group on behalf of the members. He has built constructive and productive relationships with the PCC and local MP's to ensure the voice of the members is heard. He also continues to represent Officers in matters of misconduct, performance, attendance management and welfare related issues
