Conference 2018 | Hampshire Police Federation Chairman challenges Home Secretary
Hampshire Police Federation Chairman, John Apter, challenged the Home Secretary on his promises for the future at the Police Federation of England and Wales Conference today.
John told Mr Javid that Hampshire Police had lost just short of 1,000 Officers since 2010, his colleagues are at breaking point with demand and that at present they simply cannot provide the service they want to.
John told the Home Secretary he needed to throw Policing a lifeline, and the only lifeline that was going to make a difference was proper funding.
Mr Javid responded with an obvious awareness of the issues currently facing not only Hampshire, but Policing across the country.
Mr Javid said "Give me time for action. Give me all the evidence I need, and I will ensure there is a collective agreement amongst my colleagues.
"I get the issue, they need to get the issue."
