The Winsor Review
Winsor Report in its entirety to the Police Negotiating Board (PNB) and the Police Arbitration Tribunal (PAT).
As you are aware the Winsor Report is a review into our terms and conditions, which came up with 62 recommendations which vary in their impact!
I have today been advised by our National office that the Home Secretary has announced that she will be sending the Winsor Report in its entirety to the Police Negotiating Board (PNB) and the Police Arbitration Tribunal (PAT). The Home Secretary has also stated that there will be a direction that it should be dealt with as a matter of urgency.
This news is deeply disappointing as it was hoped that the Home Secretary would see that some of the recommendations were unworkable and clearly failed to recognise the unique role we carry out.
Although these are still recommendations we now know that they will all be presented to the PNB for negotiation. Until those discussions have concluded we will have no idea which recommendation will be approved, amended or rejected.
The National Federation executive are meeting today to consider their response.
I have no further information at this time but wanted to let you know as soon as possible as to what was happening.
