Winsor Report: Updates
Message from the JBB Chairman
As you know the Winsor report (part 1) has been announced with a number of recommendations.
We know what the headline grabbers are (CRTP scrapped, SPP scrapped, overtime rates and notice periods reduced). But there are some interesting additions including an increase of 10% of the Federated ranks basic pay, on an hourly basis, for hours worked between 20.00 and 06.00 (non pensionable). Also, £1200 annual payment for certain roles (firearms, Detectives, Public Order trained Officers and Neighbourhood Officers who have been in post for 3 years). On the face of it this appears to be a mini SPP!
The document is a large one and will take time to read, digest and then read between the lines. I know that the national Federation are reviewing it and will be putting out some information as soon as they can.
As soon as we have more information I will pass it out, but please keep looking on the Hampshire and national Federation websites as that is where we will put the information in the first instance. Remember, all of the recommendations have to be agreed through the Police Negotiating Board so there are more hurdles for this review to jump.
There is a media frenzy on this at the moment, I am waiting to respond to the media until I have read the review and understand its implications.
